Omarchy for Computer Dads


Omarchy is an amazing distro for “computer dads” like me, and if you’re a computer dad, I’d highly recommend giving Omarchy a try.

What, you might be wondering, is a computer dad? A computer dad is a dad who enjoys computers. A computer dad probably has a job in software development, IT, data science, or some similar field. A computer dad can operate a computer from the terminal with at least some confidence. A computer dad also plays computer games. A computer dad has some level of expertise regarding computers greater than that of the average person, and, consequently, opinions about what they want in a computer.

Transitioning my Website to Hugo


For the past several years, I’ve built my personal website using Quarto. Before that, I was using Rmarkdown. So the transition to Quarto wasn’t really even a switch in philosophy; rather, it was more like upgrading to a different piece of software that did basically the same thing…only better.

Recently, though, I decided I wanted to simplify my website, and part of this simplification entails switching from Quarto to Hugo to build my site.
